Yonas Mekonen is a pioneering coach, author, and leader in the fitness industry, based in Alexandria, VA, with over 27 years of experience helping people build strength, resilience, and lasting results.

Known as the first Ethiopian bodybuilder, he specializes in private training for high-performing professionals, with a focus on therapeutic training and long-term transformation. His approach is both supportive and structured, shaped by his philanthropic work and deep commitment to helping others navigate real-life demands while prioritizing their health.

He currently serves as the IFBB Ethiopia President and Director of the Ethiopia Federation of Bodybuilding, is author of Anbessa Fitness: How I Busted the Ethiopian Genetics Myth and You Can Too, and holds a Masters degree in Fitness and Bodybuilding Methods.
